About

We're a ticketing company. We sell tickets. Some of them are free. We genuinely don't understand why this is a radical concept.

MrStubs is a flat-fee ticketing platform. You pay per ticket sold. No percentages. No mystery charges. No "service fees" that don't actually involve any service you asked for.

The industry problem

Here's the thing about the ticketing industry: it's broken. Not in a dramatic, falling-apart way. More in a "we're going to charge you a convenience fee for something that was not, in any way, convenient" way.

Eventbrite charges you a percentage of every ticket. Then a flat fee on top of that. Then payment processing. Then sometimes another fee they made up. By the time your buyer checks out, a $25 ticket costs $31 and everyone's confused and a little angry.

We looked at that and thought: what if we just... didn't do that?

The MrStubs solution

MrStubs is a flat-fee ticketing platform. You pay per ticket sold. No percentages. No mystery charges. No "service fees" that don't actually involve any service you asked for.

We give you 50 tickets free to start. Not 5. Fifty. Because we think you should be able to run an event before you decide if you like us. That's not a marketing trick — it's basic respect.

The Add to Calendar thing

Every ticket on MrStubs includes an Add to Calendar button. Free. On every tier. Your buyer clicks it, the event lands in their phone, and they actually show up. We include this because it should be standard. Nobody else does. So here we are.

Who's behind this

MrStubs is built by Black Asterisk, a company that builds software people actually like using. Mr. Stubs — the ringmaster with the mustache and the top hat — is our mascot. He knows he's a mascot. He finds it funny. We find it funny. Hopefully you do too.

The bottom line

We sell tickets. We charge less than everyone else. We don't hide fees. We include features other platforms charge extra for. And we think the best ticketing experience is the one you don't notice — because it just works.

That's it. That's the about page.

What we believe

The principles behind every pixel.

These aren't marketing slogans. They're the standards we build to.

  • Public pages with more intention

Event pages that sell, not just inform.

  • A stronger handoff into operations

Checkout, mobile tickets, scanning, and organizer control — all connected.

  • Tools for the people doing the work

Built for school teams, promoters, nonprofits, and community operators.

  • Supportive, local-first positioning

Clarity, trust, and faster launch cycles without enterprise bloat.

What success looks like

Trust earlier changes the entire event flow.

When buyers understand the event quickly, staff deal with less confusion later.
